KL Tower, also known as Menara Kuala Lumpur, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Malaysia. At 421 metres tall, it offers a great view of the city skyline. Whether you come in the morning or at night, the view from the top is something you won’t forget.

πŸŒ† What to Expect

The Observation Deck is at 276 metres above ground, offering a full view of Kuala Lumpur from an enclosed space. If you want a higher and open-air experience, go up to the Skydeck.

Looking for a thrill? Step into the SkyBox, a glass cube that extends from the Skydeck. It’s 300 metres high with a clear view straight down β€” definitely not for the faint-hearted!

You can also dine at the revolving restaurant, which turns slowly while you enjoy meals with a full 360Β° view of the city.

πŸ—οΈ A Little Bit of History

KL Tower was completed in 1995 and opened to the public in 1996. It was built to show the idea of balance and perfection. The top part was inspired by the gasing, a traditional Malaysian spinning top.

Its design also includes Islamic patterns and floral details, showing off Malaysia’s cultural heritage. The tower is also used to observe the moon for Islamic months like Ramadhan.

Every year, KL Tower hosts a tower run, where participants race up the stairs to the top.
